Practice Philosophy

As an Orthodontist and Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Suzanne Bird is one of just a few Orthodontists in the United States who is also a Pediatric Dentist. This dual specialty helps Dr. Bird create a pleasurable experience for all of her patients, young and not as young. For your children, Dr. Bird’s demeanor will comfort them as she guides their growth and development with orthodontics. If you’re unhappy with your own smile, Dr. Bird can help you make the right choice that supports your lifestyle and desire for a straight and healthy beautiful smile.

Home Life

When not helping her family of patients attain and maintain straight and healthy teeth, Dr. Bird appreciates traveling to tropical destinations and spending time with her husband Jake and their five children, Jacob, Emily, Marilyn, Rosemary and Renee; the youngest of whom is an aspiring dentist! The family also enjoys the antics of their furry family members, a Cockapoo named Otto and a Labradoodle named Henry.

Treatment Coordinator

Maria Ridge

Maria has lived in Charlotte all her life and can’t imagine living anywhere else – although traveling the world and attending a dental mission trip are high on her bucket list. With a background in dental assisting, Maria is perfectly suited to expand our patient base and spread the word about Braces by Bird. Away from the practice, she enjoys time with her teenaged son Austin and going to sporting events that he participates in as well as enjoying professional sporting events.

Financial Manager

Lyndsay Roll

Lyndsay works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure we have a seamless financial process through treatment. She grew up in California and Florida and relocated to Charlotte in 2018. She believes prevention is the key to a wonderful smile. She considers herself fortunate to have a “work family” and be around people who are truly happy about what they do every day. Lyndsay is married to Richard and has two dogs, Tasha and Bucky, and two cats, Logan and Stark. Costa Rica is her favorite travel destination so far … but stay tuned to find out where she goes next!

Alexa King

As the marketing coordinator for both Braces by Bird and Bird Pediatric, Alexa is instrumental in promoting our services and practices. Spreading the word is her specialty! Alexa thoroughly enjoys engaging with the community and going to events. She grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota but has lived in Charlotte since 2017 (it’s nice to live where there isn’t snow!). She enjoys spending as much time as she can with her twin daughters, Ayla and Ella, and trying out new foods. She has a pet cockapoo named Oliver.

Patient Coordinator

Olivia Bunn

Olivia is fully focused on helping our patients receive the very best care possible and getting to know what it is they want and need for their smiles. She has a marketing degree from the University of Florida. In her downtime, Olivia enjoys watching movies, eating popcorn, and going to Charlotte Checkers’ hockey games. She grew up in Clear Lake, IA and eventually moved to Ocala, FL. She relocated to Charlotte to pursue new opportunities. It’s her dream to one day backpack around Europe. Olivia can be a very adventurous person … just ask her about her first time skydiving!

Smiles Change Lives

Braces by Bird is proud to be associated with Smiles Change Lives. SCL promotes increased self-esteem and improved oral health for children from low-income families in need of orthodontic treatment. Their goal is to help families who cannot afford the full cost of braces secure treatment for their children by connecting them with local orthodontic providers willing to donate their services to deserving patients.

"Partnering with SCL gives me the opportunity to improve the smile and quality of life itself for some deserving kids that truly cannot otherwise afford it. I am blessed with the opportunity to use my professional skills to help kids "love to smile." Creating beautiful smiles is a fantastic way for me to give back to the Charlotte community by instilling self-confidence in today’s youth." - Dr. Suzanne E. Bird.
